Gallery Tour

look
This is the western section of the citizens' gallery. The ceiling is papered with tropical fish print wallpaper and the other surfaces are covered with ocean blue paint. Two seaweed-coloured
display shelves are positioned around the room. They are against the north wall and against the
east wall. Against the west wall is a portrait of Jaceth around which are a cured head of the Lancre Ness Monster on a mounting plaque and a cured head of a three-eyed fish on a mounting plaque. Against the south wall is a deep blue sofa near which is a low bamboo table. The gallery continues to the east.

The west wall is covered with ocean blue paint. Against the west wall is a portrait of Jaceth around which are a cured head of the Lancre Nest Monster on a mounting plaque and a cured head of a three-eyed fish on a mounting plaque.

a portrait of Jaceth (Jaceth)
This is is a skillfully executed portrait of Jaceth, posing clothed, swimming at the bottom of the sea. Brilliantly coloured fishes -- coral red, dappled silver, glowing pink banded with copper, deep blue with yellow stripes, intense purple with silver tracery -- swim all around her in the luminous blue waters. In stark contrast to the vivid, graceful fishes, Jaceth wears sombre black from head to heel and awkwardly clutches a large cobble to her chest. Her expression is one of grim determination.

look table
This table is made out of bamboo stems. Its legs are about one and a half feet long, making it very awkward, if not impossible to sit at the table using chairs.
On the low bamboo table are two beautiful sake cups and a calligraphed fishbowl.

a beautiful sake cup (Riverphoenix) x2
This traditional Agatean sake cup is minimalistic in its design as a slightly elongated bowl. It is paper thin and betrays the skill of a true master. Symbol of longevity and Agatean heritage, a perfect cornflower blue koi carp has been stained on the cup.

a calligraphed fishbowl (museum acquisition)
Calligraphy is the soul of Agatean culture. On this sixteen-inch fishbowl a Zing Dynasty poem is strikingly carved in and then gold leafed against an equally striking black background. The black lacquer is hand-painted over porcelain to create a matte effect. A matching solid wood stand holds the bowl's weight, and several goldfish swim quietly beneath the water it holds.

look shelf
On the seaweed-coloured display shelf are a fine abalone green sake jug, a classy abalone green sake cup, two fine abalone green sake cups and a traditional abalone green sake cup.

look shelf 2
On the seaweed-coloured display shelf are a black elm walking stick, a blue elm walking stick, a red elm walking stick and an emerald green elm walking stick.

a black elm walking stick (Quow)
This crudely carved elm stick probably wouldn't break if you leant on it, but it would quite likely give you splinters. The lump on the top might be a bird, but it's equally likely to be a jellyfish. It has been patchily stained black.

a blue elm walking stick (Quow)
This crudely carved elm stick probably wouldn't break if you leant on it, but it would quite likely give you splinters. The lump on the top might be a bird, but it's equally likely to be a jellyfish. It has been poorly stained blue.

a red elm walking stick (Quow)
This crudely carved elm stick probably wouldn't break if you leant on it, but it would quite likely give you splinters. The lump on the top might be a bird, but it's equally likely to be a jellyfish. It has been neatly stained red.
